Bee Propolis
Bee Propolis is created from resins which bees collect from buds of plants and trees. It has natural antibiotic, antiviral, antimicrobial as well as anti-inflammatory properties. There are over 2000 studies behind its use for human health. It has been shown to help modulate and strengthen the immune system, to aid with gut health and to help heal skin and to even help with the production of collagen and elastin. It contains many beneficial nutrients and fascinating active ingredients and has been shown to be effective at stopping superbugs like MRSA and researchers believe it may be useful for helping stop antibiotic resistance one day.
Olive leaf
Oleuropein, a key chemical compound found in the olive leaf, has powerful antioxidant activity. In fact, it’s said to be responsible for the fact that the olive tree is the most disease resistant tree there is. Another important component found in this wonderful natural remedy is calcium elenolate, a virucidal, bactericidal, fungicidal and parasitical. These two compounds, combined with others, make this beneficial nutrient a powerful tool in combating a variety of health issues.
This effective natural remedy has been used since ancient times as a treatment for a variety of conditions from diabetes to hypertension, and extract from olive leaf has been shown to fight viruses and infections swiftly and effectively. Dr Morton Walker, author of 29 books on natural health, is one of olive leaf extract’s biggest champions. As he states in his book, Olive Leaf Extract: Nature’s Most Powerful Antibiotic, ‘Olive leaf extract is nature’s answer to the medical profession’s creation of antibiotic-resistant bacteria.
Elderberry
Black elderberry, one of the primary ingredients in Bee Prepared immune support formulas has been used for centuries for human health and to support the immune system. The extract from the berries of the elderberry shrub have been used in folk medicine to treat influenza, colds and sinusitis, but only recently has the modern medical world recognised its potential in battling infection. It has the highest ORAC value (overall antioxidant capability) of just about any fruit or berry. Elderberry also contains anthocyanins, which have an anti-inflammatory effect, ideal for helping reduce aches, pains and fevers, including the headaches that often accompany the common cold and allergies such as hay fever.
Beta glucans
Beta glucans naturally support the immune system by optimising its response to illness and infections. The body doesn’t produce beta glucans naturally, ours is extracted from food sources and does not contain yeast. Studies over the past 100 years have shown that beta glucans act as immunomodulators, and help regulate the immune system. Specifically, beta glucans stimulate the activity of macrophages, which are versatile immune cells that ingest and demolish invading pathogens and stimulate other immune cells to attack. Macrophages also release cytokines, chemicals that when secreted enable the immune cells to communicate with one another.
Acerola cherry
Acerola cherry is a unique fruit which contains abundant antioxidants such as anthocyanins, flavonoids, phenolics as well as providing more vitamin C than all other food sources, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture. They also have twice the vitamin A as the same amount of fresh berries. Studies suggest that acerola helps promote health by preventing or decreasing oxidative stress and inflammation
Reishi Mushrooms (in Bee prepared max)
Reishi mushrooms have been used for centuries as immune tonics in Traditional Chinese Medicine. In the world of natural health, “medicinal” mushrooms are known as some of the most potent immune boosters and disease fighters. Reishi has antiviral, antibacterial and antifungal properties and it supports the body’s immune system through the production of immune cells and activation of both the innate and adaptive immune system. Reishi may also be helpful in regulating allergies and hay fever symptoms due to its immunomodulating action, in addition to its high levels of lanostane, a natural antihistamine. Reishi stimulates the body to produce its own antioxidant enzymes in addition to having its own antioxidant properties.
Astaxanthin (in Bee prepared max)
Astaxanthin is the most powerful antioxidant known to exist. It is an anti-inflammatory carotenoid found naturally in algae and is what gives the colour to flamingos and salmon. It supports the immune system by encouraging the body’s natural virus and bacteria killing mechanisms and cell-mediated immune responses. It also helps to reduce inflammation which may help speed recovery from illness. It’s a truly great natural substance.
